Summer Bishil was born in New York City. The actress is most famous for her role as Margo Hanson, in Syfy's fantasy series The Magicians. She gained acclaim because of her performance in Towelhead playing Jasira Marroun who is an American Lebanese girl of thirteen who is thrust into turmoil by the U.S. military's incursion into Iraq. Her subsequent selection as one the Top 10 actors of Variety in 2007 also came as a huge honor. In 2009, she played the formidable Taslima in Crossing Over. She was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award for Best Female Lead for this film. In addition, she has appeared in films such as The Mooz-lum The Last Airbender Pop Star and Under the Silver Lake and was a guest on several TV roles, including playing the co-lead in Lucky 7.
